ET NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING ANALYSIS The Giants finished last in the NFC East with a record of 4-13 last season, which tied the Jets for the third-worst mark in the league.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks are a bottom-five team in the league against the run and will be facing Barkley and the Giants' second-ranked rushing attack. New York has some injuries as well but they have seemingly embraced the 'next man up' approach this season. And, while the Giants lack the star power at wide receiver that the Seahawks have, they have gotten quality play out of the likes of Wan'dale Robinson and Darius Slayton.
New York finished with 236 yards rushing on the afternoon. "I'm never really happy, " Giants coach Brian Daboll said. "It's always on to the next week. I'm glad we won. But like I say every week: There's certain things to clean up. This week is no exception. " — John Schmeelk (@Schmeelk) October 27, 2022 The Giants continue to win games despite a rather average offense, besides their ground attack. New York ranks 18th in the NFL in scoring offense through seven games. Thanks to the resurgence of Barkley, the Giants have the #2 rushing attack in the NFL.
They are also just 29th against the run this season while 23rd against the pass. In the red zone on defense, the Seahawks rank 22nd in the NFL. Key Injuries: WR Penny Hart (hamstring), WR DK Metcalf (knee), G Phil Haynes (concussion), LB Nick Bellore (concussion), DT Poona Ford (ankle), OLB Darrell Taylor (groin) all failed to participate in practice this week. Metcalf seems unlikely to play after dodging what appeared to be a season-ending knee injury in LA. Best Bets for this Game Full-Game Side Bet Insiders Status: Rating: Call it luck or call it grit, the Giants are finding ways to win and finding ideal times to play teams. This week, they'll likely battle a Seattle team that is missing star wideout DK Metcalf and has a banged-up offensive line.
Russell who? The Seahawks, in general, and their quarterback, in particular, have defied the odds thus far this season. Seattle sits at 4-3 and very much in the playoff hunt after trading away Wilson in the offseason. Quarterback Geno Smith, a journeyman QB heading into this season, won the starting job in a preseason battle and has not looked back with 1, 712 yards passing and 11 touchdowns through seven weeks. In last week's huge road win over the LA Chargers, Smith threw two touchdown passes and rookie running back Kenneth Walker III rushed for a career-high 168 yards and two touchdowns as the Seahawks rolled to a 37-23 win. The win inexplicably gives the team picked to finish last in the NFC West a half-game lead in the division heading into this week.
Health issues were partly to blame for the Giants’ struggles, especially on the offensive side, as New York posted a modest 4-7 record through the first 12 weeks of the season. However, Jones’ season-ending neck injury immediately derailed their campaign, and they went 0-6 the rest of the way. Giants’ RB Saquon Barkley has also dealt with a handful of injuries over the last few seasons, which really limited what this relatively shallow New York roster could do offensively. However, with Saquon back in action now, the G-Men currently rank second in the league in rushing at 173 YPG, and when you combine that with a defense that allows less than 20 PPG, almost every contest stays within reach. The Giants are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against Seattle.
Seattle is ranked fifth in the NFL in scoring offense through seven games. They have the 10th-rated rushing attack and the 16th-ranked passing attack. Seattle has not, however, been effective in the red zone as they rank just 31st in the NFL. Like the Giants, the Seahawks have been strong in the turnover differential department, ranking 11th. The Seahawks' defense has looked vulnerable, ranking 28th in scoring defense.
However, it hasn’t been pretty, as Daniel Jones and co. averaged just 21. 4 PPG on 334 YPG across their first seven contests, which ranks 18th and 19th in the league respectively. But lackluster offensive play can be easily overshadowed when your defense also surrenders 20 PTS or less in five of those seven contests (18. 6 PPG). The Seahawks, on the other hand, posted a relatively pedestrian 3-4 record in their first seven contests, however, the last five weeks have been a thrilling ride, as Seattle averaged 31. 8 PPG on 414 YPG across their latest 3-2 stretch, which typically bodes better in the win column, but unfortunately, their defense also allowed 28.
6 PPG on 398 YPG during that timeframe, making it incredibly tough to win games. I’ll take the under here, as the Seahawks have scored 32+ PTS on 395+ YDS in three of their last four games, however, in the first three weeks of the season, they averaged just 15. 7 PPG on 296 YPG against a much tougher group of defenses. So, I think we’ll see them come back down to earth against a Giants’ squad that’s surrendered 20 PTS or less in five-of-seven contests to open the season.
Without a true go-to wide receiver, the Giants have been well below average through the air, ranking 30th in the NFL. They are just 22nd in the red zone this season but an impressive 8th in the league in turnover differential. The Giants' defense under Dabol has utilized the bend but don't break approach. They rank sixth in scoring defense while only ranking 15th against the pass and 28th against the run. In the red zone, however, the Giants have been excellent as they have earned the #4 ranking in the league. Key Injuries: WR Kenny Golladay (knee), OLB Oshane Ximines (quad), CB Cor’Dale Flott (calf), TE Daniel Bellinger (eye), OL Evan Neal (knee), OL Ben Bredeson (knee) have all been ruled out this week.

NEW YORK GIANTS vs. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS BETTING PREDICTION We’re just seven weeks into the 2022 season, and the Giants have already far surpassed the heights of their previous campaign, as the G-Men finished dead-last in the NFC East with a record of 4-13 last year, and now this season, New York enters Week 8 sitting 6-1.
(Getty) SEATTLE SEAHAWKS BETTING ANALYSIS The Seahawks have been one of the most exciting squads to watch in the first half of the season, as Seattle posted a surprisingly modest 3-4 stretch in the immediate aftermath of Russell Wilson’s departure, while scoring 23+ PTS in four of those contests and allowing 23+ PTS in five of them (26 OPPG, 27 DPPG). However, even with so many points allowed on the defensive side, Seattle’s offensive numbers are still somewhat inflated by monster performances in Weeks 4, 5, and 7, as the Seahawks racked up 39 PPG on 452 YPG in matchups against relatively weak Lions, Saints and Chargers defensive units, compared to just 16.

On Sunday in Jacksonville, the Giants gutted out a 23-17 win over the Jaguars after turning away the Jags at the one-yard line to preserve the win. Running back Saquon Barkley continued his stellar comeback season with over 100 yards rushing and quarterback Daniel Jones also rushed for 100 yards as the Giants improved to 6-1 on the season, the team's best start since 2008.
"Nobody told me that before we started the meetings in there (the locker room). I would have been going nuts about that. That's fun, too. That's good, " Seahawks head coach Carroll said. "Seven weeks in and look where we are. Who would have thunk it?
